SPECIAL EVENTS:

Boy Scout Troop 8 Improves Hiking Trails

Trails received clearing, with brambles clipped, woodchips spread and trash collected, on Sunday, November 19, 2017 when Boy Scout Troop 8 spent several hours working on the Green Village Pond Conservation Area in Chatham Township. An easy trail open to the public which leads to a natural pond and beyond to a stream, it received much needed attention from eight Scouts and six leaders and dads. Bob Weber, an Assistant Scoutmaster for the troop, said, "Now that conservation hours are required for Scout advancement we're happy to have the area around this beautiful preserved pond available for work days."

If you visit the conservation area, park along the curb next to the Oak Knoll playing fields on Green Village Road just past ShopRite. The GVPCA is a Chatham Township park maintained by the Chatham Township Environmental Commission and volunteers. Boy Scout Troop 8 meets Monday evenings at 7:00pm at Ogden Memorial Presbyterian Church, located on Main Street in
Chatham Borough.
