Karen M. Swartz
Karen Swartz serves as a Deputy Mayor and is serving her third year on the Township Committee. She has lived in Chatham since 1990, during this time, with her husband Craig, she has raised two children while working full-time and maintaining an active volunteer role in the community.
As a member of our local Kiwanis Club she serves as the advisor to the Chatham High School Key Club as well as the Chair of the Benevolence Committee responsible for directing annual fundraising proceeds to our most worthwhile local services, foundations and charities.
Over the years, Karen has served in various ministries at St. Patrick Church such as Faith Formation, Pre Cana and the Women of Mary, and has been active in Chatham United Soccer and the Chatham Baseball Club.
A native of Summit, NJ and a 1982 Graduate of Bowdoin College with a degree in Government, Karen enjoys a career in financial services spanning four decades dating back to institutional sales and trading with the Wall Street firm of PaineWebber in the 1980’s. Since 2008 she has served families and individuals as a financial representative of Cranford-based Northeast Planning and an agent for Guardian Life.
Karen is also a member of the Chatham Area Chamber of Commerce and the NJ Association of Women Business Owners.
